Replica of The Famous Dinnie Stones

  • Train for the most famous Strongman lifting stones in the world
  • Outstanding quality with laser cut components
  • Blacksmith hand-shaped handles with easy split-pin removal for loading
  • Handles and loading pin included for the most realistic and accurate feel

The Dinnie Stones are the most famous of the Scottish Stones of Strength or Testing Stones and are located at Potarch in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. There are two stones with a combined weight of 332.49 kg (733 lb), the larger stone weighing 188.02 kg (414 lb 8 oz) and the smaller stone weighing 144.47 kg (318 lb 8 oz). They were reportedly selected in the 1830's as counterweights for use in maintaining the Potarch Bridge. They were made famous by Scottish Strongman Donald Dinnie, who reportedly carried the stones barehanded across the width of the Potarch Bridge, a distance of 205 1⁄2 in (17 ft 1 1⁄2 in; 5.22 m) in 1860. The current world record for distance is held by Cerberus Athlete Laurence Shahlaei (14ft 10in).

They are a real challenge. It is not just the fact that lifting 332kg is a massive lift but they have very uniquely shaped handles which requires very strong grip, impeccable technique and a lot of pain management. The best way to train for them is by training them. Yes, improving your overall strength will help massively with your planned Dinnie Stone lift but you need to prepare for the handles. This is where the Cerberus Dinnie Stone handles come into play.

Cerberus Dinnie Stone Handles are a replica of the ring handles and the same pickup height of the actual Dinnie Stones. They are not just standard circular shapes (like some manufacturers sell as “Dinnie Stone Handles”) - they have been made as close as possible to the two different handle shapes on the real stones. They will allow you to build up the both your strength and pain tolerance. You will also be able to practice and improve your figure and hand placement as well as grip technique. Because these come with specifically designed loading pins you also get the correct pick up. You can improve your lift and perfect your technique whether you want to straddle the stones, side by side lift them or even take them for a walk like the famous man himself Donald Dinnie - our handles will get you ready for the challenge!
